Conscious Mae: Sustainable Stationery For Nature Lovers

Conscious Mae Cover

Just like its name, Conscious Mae began with a clear intention: To create sustainable, whimsical stationery products that feel good to use, and good to buy. Based in Melbourne, ex-marketer Jackie named her stationery brand after her daughter, Lenny Mae. It’s a telltale sign of how much love she poured into Conscious Mae, whose mission is greater than the brand itself.

A Conscious Way Of Life

Conscious Mae Founder

After nearly a decade in corporate marketing, Jackie found herself becoming increasingly detached from her day-to-day work.

“I discovered my core values and felt like these corporations didn’t align with what I truly believed in,” she said. “I wanted to find purpose and to express my creative side through my passion and live a more fulfilling life.”

Part of that purpose, she noted, involved “doing my part in the preservation of our earth for our babies, and their babies’ babies.”

So Jackie made the leap. A sustainable stationery brand became a perfect medium to carry out that mission.

That’s how Conscious Mae was born: To support local makers and create the best paper products for mother earth. “I believe that every purchase we make can have an impact. Even if we just swapped one purchase to something more consciously made, we can make a difference. Not only for the environment, but for our local makers,” Jackie said.

Sustainable Paper Goods

As both founder and designer, Jackie’s care is evident in every step of creation: plastic-free products, hand-illustrated designs, monthly personal letters.

“A dream of mine was to create an online space where people could purchase ethically created, Australian made products that were plastic-free,” Jackie shared.

“My love of stationery led me to create my own sustainable range, which has been dreamed, planned, illustrated and created by myself and put into this world for nature lovers.”

The brand offers:

  • Plastic-free products: Each piece is made with sustainability in mind — from small-batch production and local printing to completely plastic-free materials and packaging.
  • Monthly snail mail club: The monthly subscription features a curated mix of illustrated journal prompts, affirmation cards, and seasonal artwork. It also comes with a handwritten-style note from the founder.
  • Paper goods made with intention: Let your inner creative flourish with mindful planners, colouring books, and gratitude journals.

A Story Of Perseverance

A cancer survivor, Jackie speaks openly about how that experience reshaped her perspective. In a blog post, she shared how her journey of surviving breast cancer had led her to realise what truly matters. And turns out, they are surprisingly ordinary: having self respect, appreciating the little things, and cherishing your own body.

That drive, love, and zest for life now carry through everything Jackie creates.

“Do what you love, and I mean really do what you love! What makes your heart sing and your eyes sparkle? Hold onto that and it will make you thrive” she said.

“It is the little things that matter and not the materialistic things. Morning cuddles, the sun on your face and the giggles from your babies.”
