Step Into A Fantasy World With Abraca Deborah’s Stationery

You don’t need to be a die-hard anime fan to indulge in a little fantasy art. You don’t need to be a gamer either. But if you are, then Abraca Deborah’s aesthetics might just steal your heart.

This Sydney-based artist is on a mission to create a magical world through her stationery. Abraca launched her first creative venture, the Honey Mustard Club, in 2020, inspired by fictional stories, tabletop games and storybook adventures. In 2023, she opened a second store under her name, with a stronger focus on original works and fan art.

A Whimsical Visual World

The number one ingredient in Abraca’s unique art style? Fantasy-inspired elements and characters. A few examples include Alice in Wonderland-style teacup stickers, Spirited Away art prints, and Lord of the Rings stickers.

Gamers are also in for a treat. You’ll find plenty to love in her Slice of Home square print, which features an Animal Crossing-style miniature home island. Elsewhere, you might spot the adorable mushroom prints inspired by the role-playing game MapleStory, or even the legendary crew from Plants vs. Zombies.

And that’s just the beginning. Abraca goes beyond these familiar references to reimagine them through her own lens: cutesy, cozy, with a little twist of medieval cottagecore. Think vibrant sketches, playful patterns and colourful palettes. Then, add in knightly sword motifs and decorative typefaces — the kind of fonts you’d find in illuminated manuscripts.

The Australian illustrator likes to go the extra mile when it comes to the details. This is evident in her magical bookmarks inspired by the famous anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Each bookmark is printed on watercolour paper, with gold and silver leaf added by hand.

Abracadeborah’s Original Collections

While Abraca is best known for her prints and stickers, she has recently expanded into accessories such as keyrings, magnets, pins, and bookmarks.

Some of the standout pieces in Abraca’s original series include the Smell of Citrus square print, the Lily of the Valley keychain and bookmarks, the May Luck Find You print, and the Desert magnets and sticker collection.

Taking The Leap

On her YouTube channel, Abraca documented her raw and vulnerable journey of becoming a full-time creative. In October 2024, she quit her job and put everything into her stationery business.

“Was that a good decision? Probably not,” she said in a vlog. “But I really wanted to give it a try. I didn’t want to have any regret about whether or not I could make it as an artist and a small business owner.”

“For me to leave the security of the job and pursue an art-centric business was actually insane.”

Upcoming Market Appearances

You can find Abraca’s store at artist alleys and art-market events across Australia. She has previously appeared at the Finders Keepers Market, Hoji Tart Market, Emerald City Comic Con, and The Game Expo.

According to her website, AbracaDeborah’s upcoming 2026 appearances include Animaga Sydney (March 14–15), A.C.AU Art Mart (April 11), Comic Book Day at Campbelltown Library (May 2), and Lucky Lemon Art Market (May 16–17).
